We stay in a hotel right next to here and stubble across this hidden treasure while taking a walk, lol. You would think this was just a quick fast food restaurant. When you walk in, it's simple and quaint, but when once you taste the food!! This restaurant sells gourmet food. We absolutely loved and enjoyed the lobster rolls. It's buttery and crunchy on the outside. The inside was juicy and cheesy with a hint of lemon butter garlic. The lobster was cooked perfectly, just melting in your mouth. The lobster mac and cheese was amazing as well. The flavors tasted similar just on noodles. I'm so glad we tried both. The prices are a little pricey but definitely worth it. I definitely recommend .

Someone told my husband about this place so we decided to drive to Raleigh to try it out. The lobster rolls were absolutely delicious. I would give the Lobster Bisque and the New England clam chowder a four out of five. We will come back again.

My daughter took me and her Bonus Dad to Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls today at North Hills and boy they did not disappoint. Great service. The young man that took our order was so polite, sweet, and kind. The food was absolutely delicious! My daughter took one bite and said - they must have just caught this lobster at the back of the restaurant. That’s just how fresh the seafood was. Succulent, sweet, juicy and hearty - our Lobster rolls were to die for. Not to mention the toasted, soft, buttery rolls - !!!

Tried the BLT Lobster roll yesterday & have to say it was delicious. The bread was toasted just enough, the ingredients were fresh, and the lobster was piled into it and was not overly seasoned or cooked. Service was also quick and friendly so I will definitely return next time in town.

UPDATE - March 2025 - what happened? Your clam chowder was watery and not as thick. Your warm lobster wasn't warm and kind of mushy. Must keep up the food goodness. I was disappointed. I was born and raised in New England, and have enjoyed many seafood restaurants. Since moving to the Raleigh area in 2022, it has been difficult to enjoy seafood that measures up to Northern Atlantic fare. Some of you may by thinking, "well, have you tried so-and-so in such-a-town?" Well, I just tried Mason's Famous Lobster Rolls in North Hills, and I can truly say, the quality of the food is outstanding. I could almost hear the ocean in the Southern Rhode Island area near Newport and Brenton Point. Well, almost... These rolls are fresh and made to order. Then are on the side of things, but well worth it. We spent over 71.00 for two toasted, buttered, rolls, one cup of lobster bisque with lobster chunks (added), one cup of VERY GOOD New England Clam Chowder (other restaurants, pay attention). We had drinks, free chips and ate all of this at their outdoor tables. A beautiful night (weather-wise), with delicious food to boot. One of our best dates in our 23 years of marriage. Save up. Get anything you want and be willing to pay for it. Next time, I will try the lobster roll that has the mayo on it. Because I had never had a roll (ever), I tried the hot lobster meat with butter. This is more similar to boiled lobster I am used to. I truly miss New England, but I live HERE now. Mason's is the place to bring me back there without having to drive 13 hours. No reservations needed. Order your food, and pick it up at the counter. It is such a summer meal waiting for you.

Great lobster rolls and bisque! We tried the classic, the BLT & the lobster salad rolls and each were delicious with tons of lobster meat. The bread is evenly buttered and toasted and delicious even on its own. The bisque is delicious but quite a small serving for the price and not that much lobster for the added meat. Still a great spot to eat. But the rolls definitely give you more bang for your buck than the bisque.

This was an unexpected find on an outing in the area. We had lunch at Masons and it was so delicious. We had the Connecticut Bar Harbor, Lobster Bisque, Potato Salad, Sweet Tea, and A Ginger Maine Root Soda. This meal did not disappoint. Everything was Exceptional including the drinks except the potato salad (it was good but not exceptional). The staff was so friendly I felt like they were my sister and cousin (Deona and Barbara). The customer experience was perfect and the food was scrumptious! My new fav.

We traveled over an hour, just for this...and let me tell you, it was well worth it. There was a bit of a wait, as Trevor was the only person working...but he was quick and definitely does his job very well. He also had a positive attitude and was very pleasant even though he was extremely busy!! Definitely try it out!!
